Henry joined the RN in April 1923 for 12 years and was soon posted to the RAN in August 2025 and he then transferred to the RAN September 2026. Henry continued RAN service through to December 1930 when he was a PO Telegraphist. Then in January 1931 he continued RAN service as a Acting Warrant Telegraphist all the way through to Electrical Commander in April 1962. Henry was approved to extend retiring age by 2 years in April 1960 at which time he transferred to the Emergency List and then in April 1966 he was transferred to the Retired List after about 40 years of continuous Naval Service. MBE: https://honours.pmc.gov.au/honours/awards/1089923 SMIRE: Senior Member of the Institute of Radio Engineers Boxall Street in Coonawarra, Darwin is named after him - he served as Officer In Charge HMAS COONAWARRA in 1944/45 as a WO Telegraphist.
