Defensively Armed Merchant Ship (DEMS) Gunner. Prisoner of War May 1942 his ship the liner Nankin was intercepted by the German Raider Thor, despite fighting back and opening her sea coks, Nankin was captured and her passengers and crew taken to Japan as POW's.
