Inscription on base of family grave in Kiama cemetery. The text reads: "Also our eldest son Roy/beloved husband of Floss/Killed in action in HMAS Perth I.3.42 aged 40/Duty nobly done"
Awarded British Empire Medal for bravery and devotion to duty when he boarded a burning merchantman during the Mediterranean campaign. Memorialized on his family grave in Kiama Cemetery and also on the Plymouth Memorial, Panel 77, Column 2
