Notes
Thomas was returning to his ship and was slightly drunk. As reported, the ship lurched in the swell as he came over the gangway and he fell overboard. His body was not found for 6 days. As the newspaper reporting consistently referred to Thomas as "Henry", he is buried under this incorrect name.
