ABLE SEAMAN BARRISTON ANGUS IRVINE PRISMALL RANR W/1274 Barriston Prismall was born in Coburg Victoria in October 1920 and was mobilised for service on the 4th of September 1939. He was the only child of Barriston Prismall Senior and his wife Marjorie. He had clearly been a member of the RANR pre-war as he was rated Able Seaman within months of joining, rated as a Seaman Gunner and employed as a DEMS Gunner. Barriston served on the merchant ships; Tamoua, Waitapu, Scandia, Cornish City, Rimataka, Kooliga, and Glenanthey. He discharged to shore in November 1945. In 1943 he married Joyce Morris in Victoria. Post war Barriston worked initially as a Labourer and later as a builder. Able Seaman Barriston Prismall passed way on the 10th of November 1995 in Footscray Victoria. His body was cremated, and his ashes interred in Altona Memorial Park Autumn Court, Wall WN02, Row H, Niche 2
