Drowned and body taken by shark after a cutter with 30 Boys and PO John Duhig was capzized off Dobroyds Point. Four other Boys were lost and never recovered - Bamford, Herbert Edgar b 15 Sept 1903 VIC;Earl, Leslie William b 26 Jun 1903 VIC; Fellows, Charles William b 7 Jan 1903 VIC & McPherson, John Eden b 9 Jul 1904 VIC. Partial remains of George were recovered on 24 Mar 1919 near Dobroyd Point and identified by being marked with G W Page name on his boot. Boy Leslie Horace Hickey for saving another Boy named Smith was praised by the coroner.
