Notes

The ANZAC Memorial has a diary of Stan Newton's where he describes the battle between Sydney and Emden. His card has the following postings to Sydney. 2 Aug 1914 to 24-Oct- 1914; 31 Dec 1914 to 18-Sep-1915 & 20-JAN-1917 to 20-Sep-1917. He was posted to Penguin 25-OCT-14 to 11-12-1914 then Cerberus 12-12-1914 to 30-12-1914, so during the period 9-Nov-1914, Stan, according to his records wasn't aboard.
