Notes

Enlisted in RN on 4 March 1875 as a Boy 2nd Class. Served in HM ships Penelope, Nelson, Renard, Diamond and Harrier. Discharged in Sydney on 23 July 1887 as an Able Seaman and Foreman of the Main Top. Served in the Victorian Colonial Navy 1887-1908 prior to enlisting in the RAN Enlisted in the RAN as a Chief Petty Officer with a seniority from July 1905. Served in Williamstown Naval Depot, and HMAS Penguin and Cerberus during WW1. Awarded Long Service & Good Conduct Medal.
