ANF enlisted on HMS Psyche as Boy 2nd Class Submariner - HMAS AE2 - Was not onboard on final Patrol. He later served on HMS E14 when the ship was sunk in 1918 and the CO LCDR Geoffrey White RN was posthumously awarded the VC. Prisoner of War Jan 1918- October 1918, was discharged soon after returning to Australia Not called up for Wartime RAFR duty
