Notes

Attached to Sydney Yard four weeks before his death. The coronial inquest found that Halse accidentally caused the explosion of a three pounder cartridge as he was extracting the shell and part of the powder. This occured in the Armourers Shop at the Naval Ordnance Depot, Spectacle Island.
