Born 16 October 1851, Aberdeenshire Scotland. He was engaged clearing the anchor of a punt in about 18 feet of water for the contractors of the jetty wharf, and had been down twice and went down the third time. He was drawn up in three minutes dead, his face piece being off. How the accident happened is unexplained.
