Notes

Bleksley was afforded a substantial headstone by his shipmates. The Foster transcritpion of 1901 notes the following sentiment: "The boisterous wind and raging seas/have tossed me to and fro/yet spite of all by God's decree/I harbour here below. Quiet at anchor now I lay/with many of the fleet/in hopes one of these days to sail/our Saviour Christ to meet". There is a note that the grave was relocated to La Perouse but the headstone has not survived. ref # 211
